Our third annual scholarship giveaway was held Friday, May 13th at Kendall Ford of Meridian! While Friday the 13th is superstitiously known as a day full of bad luck, ten high school seniors found themselves to be extra lucky as they were randomly drawn at the event as recipients of $1000 scholarships each to continue their education in the fall of 2016! One by one, these ten students tested their luck by trying to start a 2016 Ford Fiesta by drawing a key. After eight other students had failed to start the car, Kenzi Delmas, a senior from Timberline was the luckiest of all – and left the finale event by driving off in her brand new Ford Fiesta!

Over 140 students were in attendance with all their family and friends for a fun evening. Kim Fields from KTVB also joined us as a fabulous emcee, and shared the importance of driving safely with the audience with a personal story. We partnered up with KTVB to provide an exciting program for seniors to promote education and safe driving. Teens are the most susceptible to using their phones while driving and it is our mission to play a small role in eliminating distracted driving incidents on the road.

Each qualifying student will be graduating with a 3.0 or higher GPA, 15 hours of community service in their senior years, and they signed the “Just Drive” pledge to end distracted driving.

Congratulations to all seniors on graduating from high school and continuing their education, and a special congratulations to these ten students who were our scholarship recipients!
