DESCRIPTION:Putt with a purpose at the 1st Annual Kendall Cares Classic\, benefitting American Cancer Society. All proceeds go to Josh Brown\, Kendall Cares 2025 Men Wear Pink Representative. We invite Kendall staff & families\, as well as community members\, to participate in a golf scramble on Saturday\, September 6th at River’s Edge Golf Course (400 NW Pro Shop Dr\, Bend\, OR\, 97703). The shotgun start takes place at 7:30am\, as we will be finishing up the golf tournament prior to the start of the 4th Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby! \nThere are only spots for 18 teams of four! DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 4th Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby will be on Saturday\, September 6th at Rivers Edge Golf Course! The Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby was designed to give back to our community while creating a memorable and impactful experience for the participants and spectators. This year\, we are taking the racecourse to the next level\, with new jumps and obstacles built by Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company. Grab a team\, choose a theme for your Soapbox car\, and enter to win up to $10\,000 in prizes split between your team and your chosen Central Oregon nonprofit. \nThe Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby is a motorless car race; the cars only accelerate with the help of gravity. The slope of the hill helps propel the cars around corners and obstacles without using an engine or motor. All soapbox cars are built by teams\, and each must have functional brakes and steering. We recommend equipping your build with suspension to withstand the jumps & obstacles! Teams will be scored on three categories: the design and creativity of your car\, voted on by the spectators\, a performance by the team before you hit the racecourse\, scored by our judges\, and how fast you make it down the hill! \nWe are so excited to see the builds & meet the teams this year and would like to extend the opportunity for our local business partners to get in on the fun. The Soapbox Derby was designed to give back to our community through an unforgettable experience\, and sponsorships were designed to give even more. Movie #3 in the series is…\n\nSeptember 12th\, 2025 – “The Sandlot” @ Sisters Community Church Baseball Fields. A summer classic\, The Sandlot. Come at 6:30pm for snacks\, lawn games\, and kickball!
