DESCRIPTION:Kendall Ford Host Food Drive to\nStock Food for Lane County’s Food Bank for Summer \n\nFord Fund and Northwest Ford Dealers are collecting jars of peanut butter and other needed food donations to meet a growing need during the summer months to feed hungry children\nThe Food Drive is part of Ford Focus on Child Hunger\, a five-state campaign in the Pacific Northwest by Ford dealers to eliminate child hunger through support of community food banks\nThe drive kicks off May 5 at the Seattle Mariners game\, with fans invited to bring unopened jars of peanut butter to the stadium\n\nKendall Ford and Northwest Ford dealers are teaming up with Ford Motor Company Fund to collect jars of peanut butter and other needed food donations from May 16-23 to help food banks meet the summer demand for nutritious\, kid-friendly foods. \nThe food drive is in response to the increased demand for food during the summer months\, when many children lose access to free or reduced school meal programs. It is estimated nearly 13 million kids in the U.S. are facing hunger\, and when school is out during the summer months\, local food banks carry a larger responsibility to feed them. Peanut butter is a great food for kids due to its high protein content\, but it is difficult for food banks to acquire in adequate quantities.  \nDuring the drive\, people can bring jars of peanut butter and other non-perishable food donations to Kendall Ford – 345 Goodpasture Island Road Eugene\, Oregon 97401. Donations collected at Kendall Ford will go to support Food for Lane County. In addition to the food drive\, Kendall Ford will donate 15 meals to Food for Lane County for every new Ford sold between May 16-23. Those unable to donate in person can also give online at www.fordfeedskids.org by clicking on the food bank of their choice to make a cash donation. The Northwest Ford Dealer Advertising Association will also be donating one case of peanut butter for every vehicle that was sold from May 5-14.\nSince 2014\, the drive has collected over 180\,000 pounds of peanut butter\, feeding thousands of kids throughout the summer. It’s a key part of Ford Focus on Child Hunger\, a five-state campaign in the Pacific Northwest by Ford dealers to support their community food banks and to make sure no child goes hungry.\nFord Focus on Child Hunger is one of many hungry relief activities supported by Ford Fund across the United States\, including a nationwide fleet of 60 Ford Mobile Food Pantries that delivered more than three million meals last year. Ford Fund supports Meals on Wheels in several locations\, including the annual Holiday Meals on Wheels program for seniors in Detroit. Ford Motor Company Fund has provided five vehicles over six years to The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division and increased support this year for the annual Bed & Bread Radiothon that provides meals to hungry people across the area. The Ford Volunteer Corps is also on the job year-round sorting and packing food at food banks\, and preparing and serving meals at shelters and soup kitchens.

For each test drive of a new Ford during the event\, Kendall Ford of Eugene will be donating $20 to your choice of four participating education foundations\, including: Pleasant Hill Education Foundation\, Springfield Education Foundation\, Bethel Education Foundation\, and Eugene Education Foundation. The funds raised will help to inspire learning\, enhance teaching\, and create opportunities for every student within all four school districts. \nKendall Ford is highly involved in the local community and proudly supports a number of education and family-oriented programs.
