Every year, players, coaches, parents, and fans from across Alaska visit the Alaska Airlines Center for the Alaska School Activities Association’s state high school basketball tournament – March Madness Alaska. “March Madness Alaska is probably the most attended event annually in the state of Alaska,” said Billy Strickland, the executive director of ASAA. “We’ve got communities from Metlakatla in Southeast, Unalaska in Southwest, Tikigaq in Northwest, Walter Northway in the northeast side of the state. So it’s an annual gathering of the state, celebrating our students, playing basketball and the fans are great and it’s just a wonderful event every year.”

Kendall proudly sponsored this year’s tournament and hosted two 30-second series shot halftime promotions during the 1A and 4A championship games. Two randomly selected contestants were given 30 seconds to make a layup, free throw, three pointer, and halfcourt shot for the chance to win $50,000 towards the purchase of a vehicle. Unfortunately, neither of our contestants were successful in winning the prize.
