Kendall Central Oregon is thrilled to announce the launch of a scholarship program that recognizes hardworking FFA (Future Farmers of America) members who are entering or currently enrolled in 2-year, 4-year, or trade school higher education programs. Kendall will be awarding three $1000 scholarships to members of the Bend FFA, Redmond FFA, and Crook County FFA chapters in 2025. Applications for the scholarship open on November 1st and close on January 9th, 2025. Recipients of the scholarship will be announced April 24th, 2025.

The FFA (Future Farmers of America) plays a crucial role in shaping the future of agriculture by equipping young people with leadership skills, practical knowledge, and a strong work ethic. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on experiences, and community service, FFA members develop a deep understanding of agricultural science, business, and sustainability practices. FFA’s emphasis on leadership, teamwork, and public speaking prepares students not only for careers in farming and agribusiness but also in fields like engineering, education, and environmental science. By nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders, FFA ensures the continued growth and innovation of the agriculture industry, which is vital for food security, rural community development, and sustainable environmental practices.

Scholarships provide essential support to FFA members as they transition from high school to higher education or career training, helping them pursue specialized studies without the stress of financial burdens. With scholarship funds, students can explore college programs, trade schools, or certifications in agriculture, business, environmental science, or other related fields, allowing them to build on the knowledge and skills they developed in FFA. This financial aid enables graduates to access high-quality resources, participate in internships, and focus on their studies, rather than worrying about covering tuition or materials. Additionally, scholarships reduce student debt, giving FFA members greater freedom to start their careers or invest in their agricultural projects. By supporting their education and career development, scholarships empower these students to make a lasting impact on their communities and the agriculture industry.

Applicants must be a member of the FFA chapters in Bend, Redmond, and Crook County to be eligible for the scholarship.
