I want to share this quick story with you. I went over to the infusion clinic and the cancer center. There were five different families receiving treatment and care. Three of them had told their children that they would not be getting a Christmas this year. We had our CMN champion Kayden and a few of his friends come to deliver a bunch of Kendall‘s gifts to the Jones Hospital. We had the kids pick out some of the toys and provide them to these families that weren’t going to have Christmas for their kids because of the treatment costs And housing that they need to be close to home here at Providence Alaska Medical Center. The kids were in tears and so overjoyed happy to receive a gift when they weren’t expecting anything this Christmas. One girl, 18 months old was overjoyed with a large stuffy. A 15-year-old got a puzzle and a basketball hoop. You all are touching the lives of so many. Thanks so much for supporting kids and families at Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital this holiday season!!
I was in tears seeing the magic. One parent said- truly you have no idea- we’ve drained our bank account to be here in Anchorage from Bethal. I had to quit my job and we have no money for Christmas. The joy in my kid’s eyes getting a gift was so special to me as a parent not missing one Christmas due to not being able to afford it myself, thank you! 🥹
