OAS x Kendall Central Oregon 2025!
Kendall Central Oregon is thrilled to kick off another exciting year with Oregon Adaptive Sports, supporting with providing scholarship funds and logistical support! Oregon Adaptive Sports provides life-changing outdoor experiences to individuals with disabilities. Through programs such as skiing, snowboarding, XC skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, cycling, paddling, hiking and golf, they envision a day where everyone has access to the benefit of outdoor recreation. With highly trained staff and volunteers, state of the art equipment, transportation, and access, OAS truly provides the best outdoor experiences to those with disabilities.
Kendall is a proud sponsor of the First Turns & First Berms program, which allows new athletes to join OAS with three free lessons. These scholarships not only provide adaptive access to outdoor recreation year-round but give individuals the opportunity to take their first alpine or private trail ride lessons free of charge. Through OAS grantors and donors, OAS was able to provide 238 First Turns and 36 First Berms experiences in 2024.
To remove all barriers to outdoor recreation, Kendall is also honored to provide a vehicle that will support with the transportation of athletes and staff as well as the equipment required for all individuals with disabilities. The OAS team travels all over the NW, to areas such as Mt. Bachelor, Mt. Hoodoo, and Mt. Ashland. Not to mention, OAS is building a competitive team of US Paralympic athletes who will compete on the World’s Stage.
The Kendall community is thrilled to continue building our partnership with the OAS team and could not be more excited to see the impact of their programs in 2025. OAS continues to grow each year, growing their winter programs by 10% and summer programs by 25% in 2024. We will be partnering with OAS on multiple events in 2025, including the First Turns & First Berms event in May that brings athletes from across the nation to participate in. We will also be thrilled to see what they build this year to compete in the 4th Annual Kendall Auto Soapbox Derby!
