Kendall Central Oregon Hosts Kick-Off BBQ for 4th Annual Turns & Berms!

May 8th marks the kick-off of the 4th Annual Turns and Berms event, hosted by our partners at Oregon Adaptive Sports and Kelly Brush Foundation. Turns and Berms is a 3-day event filled with a multi-sports program of skiing and mountain biking. Athletes start each morning at Mt. Bachelor and end their day biking at Phil’s Trail. This event exists to provide an unforgettable weekend of life-changing outdoor recreational experiences for individuals with spinal cord injuries, their families, and volunteers. As Oregon Adaptive Sports says it, these programs exist to provide the “Best Day Ever!”

Kendall Central Oregon was honored to kick off the weekend with a BBQ at Kendall Toyota of Bend. Athletes and their families from all over the nation travel to Central Oregon be a part of this extraordinary weekend. The Kelly Brush Foundation, based out of Vermont, has partnered with Oregon Adaptive Sports for the past four years to support the same mission: to empower individuals with disabilities by experiencing the transformative power of the outdoors. Kendall was grateful to be small part of their big weekend, where we got to meet the athletes and give them camp shirts to memorialize the event! As the athletes hit the slopes and trails, we wish them the best experience creating memories that last a lifetime.

Kendall Toyota of Bend partnered with OAS this year by providing a Toyota Tundra to haul their adaptive equipment and remove any logistical barriers. This is a big weekend for logistics, as the OAS team works to haul adaptive ski equipment and mountain bikes to Mt. Bachelor and Phil’s trail each day. Stay tuned for a video recapping this event, that will truly show the village of people it takes to make these experiences happen!!
