From Poles, to Pedals, to Paddles (& Running Shoes)!

The 2025 SELCO Pole Pedal Paddle hosted by Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation proved to be another unforgettable competition! Five teams from Kendall Central Oregon participated in this year’s race, each with teams that completed relay legs of Alpine Skiing, Nordic Skiing, biking, kayaking, and two distances of running. This year’s event started at a snowy and windy Mt. Bachelor and ended in the heart of Bend at Riverbend Park in the Old Mill! The Pole Pedal Paddle is the largest annual fundraiser for MBSEF, funding winter sports programs for over 800 junior athletes. The race started in 1976, and has grown into one of the most popular races in Central Oregon where individuals, pairs, or teams compete. In the words of the MBSEF team, “everyone is a winner when crossing the SELCO Pole Pedal Paddle finish-line!”

This year, the Kendall Central Oregon team entered in the Business Category of the race, which proved to be extremely competitive! We are so proud of all our team’s efforts, but would like to give a special shoutout to the Kaizen Toyota Team (Austin Hunt, Chris Root, Andy Martin, and Dalton Smith) who not only competed as a team of four, but took third place in the category! After the race, competitors got to enjoy food trucks, vendors, and an awards ceremony at the Finish Expo, where Kendall Central Oregon set up a booth and got to interact with all participants and Pole Pedal Paddle Supporters. We were honored to be a part of another successful competition and would like to thank MBSEF, our Kendall teams, and volunteers for creating such an unforgettable experience for our community!
