Last Saturday morning, the field at Boise State University was filled with energy, teamwork, and opportunity as more than 90 girls participated in the All-Girls Flag Football Clinic hosted by Optimist Youth Football. Kendall was proud to sponsor this powerful event focused on growing the game and empowering young female athletes.
The clinic brought together every key component needed to build a strong program. Sixteen current and new girls flag coaches were in attendance, along with 19 high school athletes training to become Junior Referees. Gary and eight district referees also supported the event, helping train and mentor the next generation of officials. It wasn’t just a clinic; it was the foundation of something bigger.
To close out the morning, the girls were divided into 12 teams, paired with coaches, and given the chance to scrimmage one another, with Junior Referees officiating the games. The atmosphere was high-energy, competitive, and encouraging, exactly what youth sports should be.
The celebration continued with prize drawings, including Scheels gift cards, Dutch Bros coffee cards, two autographed Seattle Seahawks mini helmets, and a laser-autographed Seahawks Anniversary football. The top awards were presented to athletes who demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship, skill, and care for their teammates, the core values of the Optimist Youth Football program and the same values Kendall looks for in community partnerships.
The clinic also received tremendous media coverage from all three local TV stations, helping spotlight the growth of girls flag football in our community.
We are incredibly proud to support programs that create opportunity, build confidence, and develop future leaders. Seeing more than 90 girls take the field at Boise State is proof that when a community comes together, great things happen.
