What a way to kick off the school year!
Our Kendall Auto Fairbanks team had such a great time partnering with the USO at Fort Wainwright and FSS at Eielson Air Force Base for Operation Backpack.
The turnout absolutely blew us away! At Fort Wainwright, more than 400 people came through in the first hour alone. We handed out 300 backpacks and countless school supplies to kids from preschool through 12th grade. Seeing families come through, kids picking out their backpacks, and all the excitement for a new school year made for a pretty special day.
Then we headed to Eielson Air Force Base, where 150 families joined us and 250 backpacks were donated!
There’s just something about seeing a kid walk away with a brand-new backpack filled with supplies that makes you smile.
We’re incredibly grateful that we get to be part of days like these and spend time with the military families who are such an important part of our Fairbanks community. A huge thank you to the USO, FSS, our volunteers, and everyone who helped bring it all together.
Here’s to new backpacks, sharpened pencils, fresh notebooks, and a great year ahead!
