What started as a goal to fill a Ford Maverick with food turned into something much bigger.

Throughout September, Kendall Auto Idaho partnered with West Ada School District for Tackle Hunger, a month-long food drive benefiting The Idaho Foodbank and supporting Ford’s Global Food Drive. Together, participating schools, students, staff, families, community members, and the Kendall Ford of Meridian team collected an incredible 6,446 pounds of food for Idaho families in need.

Throughout the month, participating West Ada high schools hosted their own collection weeks, encouraging students, families, and staff to donate nonperishable food items. Community members could also bring donations directly to Kendall Ford of Meridian, where we worked to pack a Ford Maverick with food for The Idaho Foodbank.

Participating schools included Mountain View, Rocky Mountain, Eagle, Meridian, Centennial, and Owyhee High Schools, with each school rallying its community around the cause. And the response was incredible. By the end of the drive, the community had collected 6,446 pounds of food.

One group in particular made an extraordinary contribution: Idaho Fine Arts Academy collected 4,179 pounds of food on its own, making a major impact on the overall total.

Every box, bag, and can represented someone choosing to help a neighbor, and together those individual donations became thousands of pounds of food that will help support families throughout Idaho.

We are incredibly grateful to every student who brought in a donation, every family who participated, every school that supported the drive, and every community member who stopped by Kendall Ford of Meridian to help fill the truck.

Most of all, thank you to The Idaho Foodbank for the work they do every day to support Idaho families.
