At Kendall Auto Group, we're proud to be part of the communities we call home. This year, we had an incredible time serving as the Exclusive Auto Sponsor of the Western Idaho Fair and connecting with so many wonderful people throughout the week.
From welcoming fairgoers at our tent to supporting special events and celebrating Idaho history, the fair gave us another great opportunity to get out in the community and make memories with our neighbors.
On Sunday, August 23, we were proud to sponsor Armed Forces Day, providing free admission to active-duty military members and veterans as a way to recognize and thank them for their service. We were also honored to partner with the Idaho Historical Society to bring the Idaho Liberty Bell to the fair.
The Idaho Liberty Bell is an iconic piece of Idaho and American history, and we were thrilled to introduce so many fairgoers to its story. The nearly 4,000-pound bell traveled to the fair on a Kendall Ford F-450, continuing a tradition that dates back to the 1950s, when Liberty Bell tours traveled across the country aboard Ford trucks.
We're especially grateful to the Idaho Historical Society for being on hand throughout the day to answer questions and share the rich history behind the bell. Bringing the Liberty Bell to the fair before it begins its journey through all 44 Idaho counties was a special opportunity, and we're excited to see the history it will continue to share across our state.
We also had a blast participating in the first-ever Fair Food Eating Relay presented by Idaho News 6. Five technicians from Kendall Ford Commercial & RV Service Center went head-to-head with local companies in a fast and messy competition to eat some of the fair's most iconic foods. From Pronto Pups and caramel apples to corn on the cob, cheesy bacon fries, and the famous Idaho Ice Cream Potato, our team was ready to take on the challenge.
While our Kendall team narrowly missed out on first place, they'll always be first place in our hearts! We're already looking forward to coming back next year, competing again, and hopefully taking home the gold.
