Have you ever wanted to try fishing but didn’t know where to start? Idaho’s Free Fishing Day is the perfect opportunity to get outside, enjoy our beautiful state, and try your hand at fishing, no license required!

This annual event is hosted by Idaho Fish and Game and is open to residents and visitors of all ages. Whether you’re brand new to fishing or just haven’t cast a line in years, Saturday, June 14th Free Fishing Day is a fun, no-pressure way to learn and connect with nature.
Here’s what to expect:
  • Fish and Game personnel and volunteers will be stationed at select fishing waters throughout the state.
  • They’ll be offering hands-on help, tips for beginners, and encouragement for anyone ready to give it a try.
  • A limited number of loaner rods and reels will be available—but if you have your own gear, be sure to bring it!
Important reminders:
  • While no fishing license is needed for this one special day, all other fishing rules and regulations still apply. That includes creel limits, gear restrictions, and fishing seasons. Make sure to check the current rules for the location where you’ll be fishing.
At Kendall, we love celebrating the adventures Idaho has to offer, and Free Fishing Day is a great way to unplug, make new memories, and enjoy time with family and friends in the great outdoors.
Mark your calendar, grab your gear, and enjoy the simple joy of fishing in Idaho, free for the day!
