The YMCA holds a significant and cherished place in our community, playing a crucial role in shaping the lives of many families, including ours. All four of our children have benefited immensely from the Y’s early learning programs. These programs include childcare, preschool, before- and after-school care, day camps, and summer camps, each providing unique and enriching experiences. Our two youngest children began their journey at the YMCA as infants, enrolling in the Downtown YMCA’s early childcare learning program. Finding quality early childcare can be daunting, but we were fortunate to have access to such a remarkable program. The dedicated and caring staff and exceptional programming ensured that our little ones received the best possible start. The impact of the YMCA’s early learning programs goes beyond just care and education. The friendships our children formed during their time at the Y have stood the test of time. They still cherish the close bonds they made as babies, a testament to the nurturing environment the YMCA provides. We are profoundly grateful for the YMCA’s presence in our community and its lasting positive influence on our family.

I support the YMCA because it strengthens our community by providing vital programs for kids and families. The Y ensures everyone has access to these resources, regardless of their ability to pay. It’s all about giving every child the chance to discover their potential and succeed.

Hello! I’m Allie, a proud Boise native with deep roots to the YMCA. My journey with the Y began when I was just 2 years old at the West Boise YMCA, where I learned how to swim. In the very same pool, I mustered up the confidence to jump off the high dive, and spent countless weekends together with my family and friends over the years. As I grew older, the Downtown YMCA became another pivotal place in my life. At 16, I earned my lifeguarding certification here, kicking off a 5-year career as a lifeguard. During my college years, I completed a Y Not Tri sprint triathlon in that same pool.
After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Childhood Development, I realized just how crucial the YMCA’s programs are for kids. The funds we’re raising go directly to support children who might not otherwise have access to camps and events that are so vital to their growth and development. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we can ensure that every child in the Treasure Valley has the opportunities they need to thrive and make a lasting impact in our community.

I chose to participate in Kendall’s Catwalk for a Cause for the YMCA because I believe in the positive impact the YMCA has on our community. This event not only raises awareness and funds for their valuable programs but also brings people together in support of a common goal. The YMCA’s dedication to promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility resonates deeply with me, and I’m honored to contribute to their mission through this unique and exciting event.

ABOUT
The Treasure Valley Family YMCA strengthens the foundations of the community by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living and instilling a commitment to social responsibility.
The Y is the largest provider of childcare in the state of Idaho serving more than 2,900 children each year. Through this quality child development, children are empowered to thrive in school, the community and life. More than 20 percent of these children receive financial assistance for their Y enrollment. This financial assistance is made possibly thanks to community partnerships like Kendall Cares and generous community member donations.
